Waterfront Retreat at Wattle Point

It was an awesome place to stay, especially since we had visitors from overseas and kangaroo feeding just beside the room was a unique experience!

Pros: Location, Each Cabin is a private house. Lake view (less than a min walk to lake), Morning you will see Kangaroos at your doorstep. Spa, Cycles available and canoe(all for free) Cons: -Not worth the amount they charge.(We travel every other month to a far place to stay and stayed in most beautiful places but not this expensive) Photos are really not it is. Place is very small when compared to pics. First disappointment -Most networks wont work there. We told the team we will arrive at night. Keys and instructions were given. No wifi password was given. So we couldn't use internet So we couldn't make any calls or search for anything. - Next day no one in office at 11 am even though they said it would open at 10 am. Couldn't call them. while we were out, we called them, no response. then later the night before we were gonna leave, we again went out 10 mins drive to get a signal and called many times and then they picked up. Good at least we had internet for our GPS and making calls.10 hours before our check out. About the room - small room, not as advertised. Kids loft, risky at times for kids to go up by themselves. - Dishwasher didn't work properly (no one in reception to help or could call them). Had to wash dishes ourselves. - Water pressure in bathroom was very poor.(no one to help) - Had tv with no connection. No entertainment for kids. All things are to be sought from reception(which was closed or unable to contact) 5 hours of journey to have a retreat and celebrate my sister's wedding anniversary. instead we were very disappointed. I wish we had booked someone place else.. definitely not a place to go for me next time or any of my family members. This is my personal experience. If all above is not an issue of you and only location is what you are after then this is a great place.

The most amazing get away! The service, the tranquility, the animals, the facilities were all so amazing! This is my new favorite getaway location, you could just exist, unwind and take in the view for days!

What a perfect place to go for some real relaxation. Went on family trip and had two cabins next to each other. Was a great setup. Was not sure what to expect and it exceeded all expectations. Online pics do not do it justice. Very secluded yet close enough to Bairnsdale and Paynesville (20 mins) if you want to go for dinner or do something different. Furniture and beds were so comfortable, we only stayed 2 nights but I could easily live there. Watching the birds have their morning play was gorgeous. So many different species, was amazing. Cannot recommend highly enough for those who enjoy a quieter environment away from the crowds and hustle and bustle. Plenty to keep the kids entertained. Pool and spa area was great and good because it was never packed with people. Cabin with disability access was perfect, bathroom was like new and had everything required for person with mobility issues. Would definitely go back again.

We had rolled this stay over a couple of times due to Covid, we are so happy we didn't give up, great place to spend some down time. Afternoon drinks outdoors with a great outlook birds and kangaroos, a spa,even a good view from your bed who could ask for more, the new manager was helpful and was happy to do some running repairs for us while we were out.

Stayed 3 nights in a two bedroom villa with the family. While the weather was crap, it was still a great place to be caught in a torrential downpour for hours. I could only imagine all the things we could have done if the weather was fine. Some of our group did visit the indoor pool on several occasions. And we fired up the BBQ on the balcony and cooked up a feast. The place is quiet, remote, but only 20 mins from Bairnsdale if you need supplies. It has a little jetty that would be great for fishing in good weather. We also walked down to the boat ramp about 1km down the gravel road. The villa we were in looked like new. Clean, tidy, everything you needed was there. No internet though but you could tether the laptop to your mobile phone if needed. There is a tennis court and other facilities
